The Heart of My Work With Families

At the center of my work is a simple belief: families thrive when parents feel supported, children feel heard, and everyone has the tools to navigate life’s transitions with care and understanding. I’ve dedicated my career to walking alongside families as they navigate both the joys and challenges of life together. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at the Institute for Couple and Family Enhancement and co-owner of the Center for Families in Transition, I strive to create spaces where children and their parents feel supported and understood.

I began my professional journey toward becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Texas Tech University and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University. After several years as a school counselor, I transitioned to full time private practice at the Institute for Couple and Family Enhancement (ICFE) where I have been serving children and families since 2020.

At ICFE, I can focus on what I value most: supporting parents and children through the many stages of family life. Parenthood is one of life’s most meaningful journeys, yet it can also bring some of its greatest challenges. I believe that families deserve support not only in moments of struggle, but also in times of growth and change. For children, I offer Play Therapy that honors their natural way of expressing themselves and making sense of the world. Through play, children often show us what they need most, even when words are hard to find. Play not only helps children work through their experiences, but also give parents a clearer window into their child’s world and help parents approach their child’s challenges with greater clarity and compassion. It is my honor to create a safe, welcoming space where you and your family can find steadiness, strengthen connections, and move toward the future you envision for you and your children.

In 2024, I partnered with Dr. Becky Davenport to create the Center for Families in Transition (CFIT), a place dedicated to supporting families as they move through the challenges of divorce. We know this transition can be complex and emotional, and our mission is to walk alongside parents and children as they adjust to life in two homes. CFIT was born out of our shared recognition that families in this season need care that is both practical and compassionate. Our services are designed to provide guidance, tools, and support so families can move forward with strength, integrity, and hope—before, during, and after divorce.

Family has always been at the heart of who I am, which is part of why this work feels so meaningful to me. I have been in a relationship with my husband since 2010, we have been married since 2016, and we have two children who bring more joy and purpose to our lives than we ever thought possible. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, walking, and yoga.
